Common questions

How do I open my old files?

Double-click the file, or use File > Open. Your original is never changed. When you save, PubStudio writes a .pubx copy next to it.

Can I save back to .pub?

No. Publisher's format has no public specification, and Publisher refuses files that are only nearly right. Keep your work as .pubx, and share it as PDF, which anyone can open.

My file looks a little different from Publisher

The usual cause is a missing font, which makes text run longer. Install the fonts the publication uses and open it again. If something else is off, send us the file and a PDF from Publisher if you have one.

Is there a Mac or web version?

PubStudio is Windows only for now. A free online .pub viewer and a web editor for subscribers are planned. They're marked Soon in the menu.

I lost my licence key

It's in the email from Dodo Payments sent when you bought it. You can also sign in to the customer portal from Account to see it again.
